This guide will explain how to install 3.90 M33 on your PSP Slim.
This is a relatively short procedure, but I felt a guide is useful for people with no experience in hacking a PSP
Getting StartedWhat will I need?
A USB Cable
Recommended: AC Adapter ( U must be at least 78% battery power).
A PSP Slim or 2000.
If on a PSP Slim, you must update to 3.80 M33-5 first or equal to 3.71 M33-4.
Network Update is also available for you to directly download the new CFM 3.90, if your are already on 3.71 M33-4 or 3.80 M33-5.
Installing 3.90 CFW
Get the 3.90 OFW from Sony US.

Note: Skype support is not available for Japanese handsets due to the shortage of earpiece or headsets.
European/US & Korean released are not affected.

Then extract the "3.90 CFW Update" files.
Connect your PSP to your PC via USB cable and do the following:
Copy the UPDATE folder found in the extracted RAR file you downloaded, and copy it to: 'X:/PSP/GAME/'.
Rename the 3.90 OFW (24.4 MB file download above) from 'EBOOT.PBP' to '390.PBP'.
Place the 390.PBP together in the UPDATE folder.
Do not overwrite EBOOT.PBP that already exists in the UPDATE folder.
N.B-: There should be TWO files altogether in the UPDATE folder. 390.PBP (25,054KB) + EBOOT.PBP (556KB)
Exit USB Mode.
Run the application from your PSP's main menu under GAME > Memory Stick.
Do not turn your PSP off, unplug the AC Adapter while your PSP is updating. Doing so can render your PSP useless.
Anjoi~!!!
