a friend of mine bought a psp some weeks ago, but its crap cuz it has the firmware 2.81... now he found sth on ebay.... a description how to downgrade your psp up to 3.03 yourself, without sending it to others, without mod-chip and as well with a ta-82 board. he sendet me the mail, and it looks really stupid and confusing what he has written:

ok, ive got you money and everythings well. i dont know what firmware you have, but it doesnt matter, because we need the firmware 2.71, you can get it here:

please click firmware 2.71 download and save it. then connect your psp via usb with your pc and create in the folder GAME a new folder called UPDATE, and save the downloaded file in there. then your psp has the firmware 2.71 and then read this page

a file named Downgrader2.71FULL.exe.

now, what do you think about it? how should the psp be downgraded? if i start the "update" in the game-folder, it says not needed cuz newer version is already installed, for sure... so does anybody know the answer?

it didn't work on my 2.6 psp, yes i heared it over in a psp forum,
but psp isn't able to read update though i put all in caps.
