After working for a long time and a lot of efforts I'm pleased to announce today the release of the all new PocketBreeze 5.3! There are lots of new changes and features added with this new update and I'm really excited to have this new version released today!
Before going through the new version features and improvements I will mention that the new PocketBreeze 5.3 release is a free update for all of our PocketBreeze 5.X registered users. More information how to download the new version is included at the bottom of this post.
What's new with PocketBreeze 5.3?
1. New empowered Notes tab!
The PocketBreeze Notes tab was the main focus point of this new PocketBreeze 5.3 update. With this new version we've completely re-designed the Notes tab from the very beginning, targeting to maximize productivity and ease-of-use with the new design and features.
With the new Notes tab we've added support for multiple file formats, including: Written notes, Audio notes, Word documents, Excel workbooks, Text files and MyList lists (more information on the new MyList integration is included in the next paragraph). Using the new Notes tab design users are now able to manage more powerful file formats using PocketBreeze notes tab, create new note items (for any of the different supported file formats), easily access all of the available note applications and much more!
Following the new file formats addition, a new "File formats" section was added within the PB Note Options section, allowing users to choose which file formats should be active on the new Notes tab display. This is done easily by checking the file formats that you would like to have scanned.
In addition to multiple file formats support, a new "Scanned folders" options section was added within the MyList Note options section. The Scanned folders options section allows the user to list which folders should be scanned for the different note files. Please notice that if you chose to display MyList lists there is no need to include the MyList folder since PocketBreeze will automatically scan the correct folder based on your MyList selected folder configuration.
On top of all of this, we've also packed the new Notes tab with a new search panel, similar to the search panel used on the Contacts tab up until now, which is positioned at the bottom of the new Notes tab and allows you to easily search and locate specific note files from within the list of notes
2. MyList integration - view and manage your Lists from your Today screen!
One feature that was requested in the past two months since the new version of MyList was released was the ability to integrate MyList list files with PocketBreeze. With this new PocketBreeze version we've implemented such integration with powerful controlling capabilities thats should allow users to fully control your Lists directly from the new PocketBreeze Notes tab!
You can now view and manage all of your MyList lists within the Notes tab as regular note files along with a few additional details that are specific to MyList list files, including the selected list icon and list progress bar state!! (Lists progress is a new feature that was added with the new MyList build 2.1.05 released today too ).
Additionally you can create new lists, open your lists, search for lists, copy, move and rename your lists - all from the new PocketBreeze Notes tab!
Please notice that the list's progress bar is only displayed if you have the progress bar enabled for a certain list within MyList. You can also choose whether you wish to view the list progress bar within the Notes tab or not through the Notes tab main menu -> Display -> and check or uncheck the option to the display List progress bar
3. Search panels with D-Pad navigation support
In addition to the new search panel that was added on the Notes tab, both of the search panels on the Notes and Contacts tabs were empowered with new D-Pad navigation support! Using the new D-Pad navigation support you can now easily access the search panel buttons using your D-Pad only. To reach the search panel buttons using the D-Pad you can either scroll down in your list of items until you reach the search panel, or hit the D-Pad right direction button from any position in the tab items list which will move the D-Pad highlight directly to the search panel at the bottom of the tab really easily
Searching with the search panel using the D-Pad is similar to regular searching using the stylus and of course you can continue searching either in sequence search or initials search mode regardless if you are using the D-Pad or stylus
Using this new D-Pad searching capability on the search panels it is easier than ever to search for note or contacts using the new PocketBreeze build!
4. New Auto-Height support!
Although this was added a few minor updates already, the majority of our users that are still using older versions of PocketBreeze still didn't had a chance to use the new auto-height feature
With this new version a new auto-height feature was added, which is activated by default. When used, the auto-height feature will automatically determine the optimized height for PocketBreeze on your Today screen such that the OS scrollbar on the right side of the Today screen won't be visible - saving the user the time to configure the height setting and achieve optimized real-estate usage of your Today screen display this way!
This feature was long requested by many of our users and I hope that many of our users will really enjoy this new addition along with all of the other great improvements implemented with the Notes tab and MyList integration with this new version
