People in the Philippines eat Nokia branded sweets all the time
Julie Ask, a [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...], took a few pictures of the local candy in a town just outside of Manila, Philippines. Cute, hopefully Nokia Legal isn’t going to sue them out of existence.

Videos: Nokia really, and I mean seriously, pissed off Germany
Go to youtube
and search for
“[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]”
and you will get
some seriously
angry Germans
doing mean and
horrible things
to their

Let us begin with this guy smashing a 9500 Communicator:

This same dude now breaking a 9300 and yet another 9500 Communicator; something tells me they were broken to begin with:

Last is this 9 minute report that shows a family with child, I can’t speak German, but I’m assuming the husband/father lost his job. This special also takes you to the construction site near Cluj, Romania, where you can see how poor those people really are.

To further add fuel to the fire, [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] states that by 2009 Nokia wants their Cluj factory to be the largest they have.

What did Nokia do in 2007 and what can we expect in 2008?
If you read [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] then you’re familiar with the fact that I enjoy delving a little bit into the past and present before talking about the future, it just feels like the right thing to do. With that in mind, let me take you on a trip of what Nokia released in 2007, who Nokia acquired in 2007, what exactly happened at Nokia World and where I predict the Finnish giant is going to go in 2008 in terms of both devices and services.

Nokia Helsinki Flagship Store January Update: New two tone 6120 Classic
I just happened to be in Helsinki last weekend for the Nordic Travil Faire ([Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]) and of course I had to stop by the best store on main street, the Nokia Flagship Store. These guys usually get all the color variants first, some are not even announced and the level of service is bar none amazing to watch. Nothing new to report in terms of hardware except for this 6120 Classic that comes in two tone. Off white to slight bronze on the front and chocolate brown on the back. This brings the total to 5 color variants for the 6120 Classic with the others being white, pink, blue and the original. High resolution pictures after the jump.

Nokia and Facebook looking to "Friend" each other?
Nokia and Facebook
are looking to
work together
([Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] ).
While it is still early
days and the
report stresses
that "things remain
to be worked out,
" this is perfectly
in keeping with
Nokia's plan to open up Ovi to as many social network partners as possible. The added discussion around Nokia purchasing a stake in the behemoth that is Facebook also fits in with their acquisition strategy.
From Facebook's point of view, having their site accessible directly from the Ovi interface will drive a huge amount of traffic to the site. On the flipside, if Nokia have a stake, then the profile date from Facebook, coupled with mobile usage, would provide a strong stepping off point for their recent purchase on Enpocket, a mobile ad platform system.
But the possibilities are intriguing. There is precedent from both companies for this type of deal... and the press you could attract with a phrase like "Nokia... Connecting People... With Facebook" is probably going to hand the PR people an easy headline on the press release.

...How far we've come: Nokia 6600 to N95
Life on the cutting edge can seem slow at times - we know roughly what's coming up and, like impatient children, we find it hard to wait. But look at how far technology has come. [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] What on earth will the next three years bring?
"To those at the cutting edge, living on the day-to-day announcements in the smartphone world, progress can sometimes seem frustratingly slow. But in reality, we've come a long, long way in just three short years.

New worm targets S60 2nd Edition phones

F-Secure is [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] that a new worm, Beselo, is in the wild. The worm, similar to the Commwarrior worm, targets only S60 2nd Edition handsets such as the Nokia 6600. The worm is notable for its use of social engineering; when spreading it appears as a JPEG or MP3 file which is more likely to be opened by a user. However simple common sense can readily protect you against infection.
Although the file appears to be a JPEG or MP3 file when you try to open the file it will start an instance of the application installer. At this point the sensible user would cancel the install process.
Phones can not be infected unless the install process is completed. This requires you to go through several dialogs confirming that you want to install and unknown application.
We would advise you that you never install an application of unknown origin, especially one you receive unexpectedly via Bluetooth or MMS.
All recent S60 handsets (S60 3rd Edition) are unaffected, the virus is not compatible with he new version of the software platform. Changes in the platform's security model mean worms of this type are no longer possible. There are no known virus of worms targetting S60 3rd Edition phones.

apart from any devices that may (or may not) be launched, OPK's keynote is trailered by "will share his views on the significance of 'disruptive changes' in the industry". Plenty of scope for Facebook/N-Gage/Ovi chat then?
