Kingston unveils DataTraveler Micro Reader to make mobile phone memory card use more
At the Mobile World Congress, Kingston showed us a neat accessory for data porting between a mobile phone and a computer. The so called DataTraveler Micro Reader is an all-in-one USB Flash drive and reader that can store, transfer and read content on mobile memory cards.
With dimensions of just 64×19.8×10.4 mm, weight of 8.68 g, and with its own storage capacity of up to 4GB, the tiny device is just perfect to carry around. All popular formats are supported, including microSD, microSDHC, and Memory Stick Micro (M2).
Unfortunately, we don't know how much the DataTraveler Micro Reader will cost once it's released later in the month — we only know the 1GB version will be released first, followed by the 2GB and 4GB versions soon after…

Cell Phone Sim Card Spy can read deleted text messages; Turns you into a stalker
First of all, it's important to note we're all about privacy and we think you shouldn't use portable SIM card readers to spy on others. Still, some people may opt in and start spying on their loved ones — spouses, parents and/or kids. We do argue they should stop doing so, but in just in case they want to continue doing "their thing," here's a tiny gadget that can take their "surveillance" one step further.
BrickHouse Security is selling the portable SIM card reader called Cell Phone Sim Card Spy, which allows users to retrieve all the information from a SIM card, including last numbers dialed and deleted text messages. In addition, it also comes with some really useful features like backup of all data, parental control (only certain phone numbers are permitted), SIM phone book editing, transfer of data from one SIM card to another SIM card, and more.
If you want to know more, here's the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] from where you can also buy this gadget for $149.00. In case you feel someone's spying on you — switch over to some CDMA network (i.e. Verizon, Sprint) and you're safe for the moment…

Bluetrek BIZZ Bluetooth headset also works as a microSD card reader, USB flash drive

Bluetrek is launching its latest Bluetooth headset called "[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]" in the UK. The 10 grams heavy (or that's light) device is probably one of the most useful mobile phone accessories I've seen to date. The secret? Well it's not just a Bluetooth headset but also a microSD card reader and a USB flash drive.
Simply open the headset (yes, open) and insert a microSD card (up to 8GB cards are support) and you can use the BIZZ as the flash drive to store all the data you need on the card's memory. Or you could use it to quickly transfer data from a mobile phone to a desktop computer. Best of all, while you're transferring the data — or even when you don't have any files to transfer — the BIZZ is charging via USB port. Talk about multi-functional devices…
At the moment we're not sure where you can buy the Bluetrek BIZZ, but we do however know it cost 39 GBP. That's in UK, with launches in U.S. and rest of Europe to follow soon. Hopefully.

Review: Hello Kitty Mobile Phone Emergency Charger
Deep inside every grunting, smelly, chest pounding man there exists a kitty who occasionally comes out to say Hello! My Hello Kitty fetish goes back, way back, to the days when my bed had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sheets. Elementary School was not an institution for learning, but an 8 hour strut on the cat walk for you to show off how many things you can possibly own with your favorite logo or cartoon character painted on.
Your Trapper Keeper had to match your book bag which had to match your shoes which had to match your shirt. Power Rangers one month, Ren and Stimpy the other, back then I had a sense of style so developed the ladies were practically buying me chocolate milk.
There was one click you couldn't mess with and that was the Asian girls with their Hello Kitty everything. The Kitty itself didn't represent anything, but the sheer fact that the brand was attached to so many objects, things I wouldn't even think about branding, made me sit down with my juice box and ponder at what new things could I stumble upon with that damn cat somewhere on the product.
As luck would have it a friend of mine went to Taiwan to celebrate the Chinese New Year with her family. I asked her nicely to get me something, anything Hello Kitty related.
She got me a phone charger.

The most useful cellphone strap - 3.5 mm earphone adapter for Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones
I'm quite sure I haven't seen more useful cellphone strap than this one. The simple strap is basically an adapter which connects to your Nokia or Sony Ericsson phone to allow you to use any universal 3.5mm earphones. Simply attach it to your Nokia's pop-port or Sony Ericsson's fast port, connect any standard headset and you're ready to go. Now the adapter is always with you, no matter where you are and that convenience costs only $9 plus shipping.
It's easy as that. Here are the links to [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] and [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] adapter handy straps. That's on Hong Kong-based Brando's web store.

Review: Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) Portable Speaker for iPhone

Digital Lifestyle Outiftters, otherwise known as DLO, recently launched their Portable Speaker for iPhone and we’ve been lucky enough to score one for ourselves. The [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] is exactly what you’d expect it to be – it’s portable, it’s a speaker-dock system, and it’s made for the iPhone.
The iPhone’s built-in speakers are a bit on the weak side when it comes to listening to music or watching movies in anything but the quietest environs. If you want decent sound from your iPhone, your only options are to lug along some high-end headphones (which can be bulky) or tote along an external speaker system (which can be even bulkier). So, to that end, DLO is touting their Portable Speaker for iPhone as the perfect portable solution for iPhone (and iPod Touch) owners that are always on the go and want to take a decent speaker system/speaker dock with them – but with as little bulk as possible.
If you want to get to the point, skip down to the "Overall" section at the end of this review.

The Spracht Aura Mobile BT speakerphone
Spracht is introducing a new hands-free mobile speakerphone, the Aura Mobile BT. It looks ideal for everyone from the executive user to "moms on the go" - and uses Bluetooth to transform mobile phones, cordless phones or computers into a high quality, digital conference phone. "The Aura Mobile BT™ turns a Bluetooth™ enabled mobile phone, cordless phone that has a headset jack, or a PC/Mac (for VoIP calls) into a high quality conference phone … The Aura Mobile BT has an advanced echo and noise cancellation system, allowing for clear and undisturbed calls … The Aura Mobile offers full duplex (93%) operation for simultaneous two way conversations without clipping, and multiple acoustic profiles which are automatically adjusted based on the type of communication. With a full 3 watt amplifier and dual speakers generating 95 dB, the Aura Mobile produces enough sound to fill a large conference room."
The Aura Mobile is compatible with Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Messenger, and all other VoIP softphones. Included with purchase are a wall charger, car charger, VoIP cable, cordless phone cable, and an external microphone for large conference rooms or noisy areas - I think that's a pretty fair deal! And the best part - retail cost is $129.99 (available for purchase at [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...].
If we can lay our hands on one of these units, I will come back with a full product review for the readership!!

Crocs releases shoe-themed mobile phone holsters
Crocs obviously thinks that if their famous shoes are good for people, they are good for mobile phones as well. Hence, they are launching the Crocs "o-dial", universally-sized mobile device case, designed to share the "look and feel" of the Cayman shoes.
In addition to simple "carrying around" function, the raised inside surface makes sure mobile phone's screen is protected, while an internal accessory sleeve gives owners the option to use it for other items, like IDs, credit cards and/or cash. Plus, let's not forget the patent-pending adjustable strap concept, a strong plastic belt-clip and lanyard — all that make "o-dial" more of a wallet than a mobile phone holster.
Want it? The Crocs phone holsters are available in eight colours (black, silver, red, grape, fuchsia, celery, cotton candy and turquoise) for 6.95 GBP (about $13) each.

Lightbulb mobile phone charm informs you on new call, SMS; Looks cool
First let me be clear I'm usually against all kinds of mobile phone charms. There are simply not enough room in my pockets. However, this may be an exception. Just take look at the image above and see how this lightbulb charm fits with the Sony Ericsson K850i. It's like SE made both items, just forgot to include the lightbulb in the box.
Anyway, the Lightbulb mobile phone charm is quite small (measures 3×1.6×1.6 cm) and uses three SR60 batteries (included in the box). As you might expect, it will flash when you receive a call or text — even if you phone is on silent.
Want one? You can get the Lightbulb phone charm in either blue or white at [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] for 5.95 GBP (around 12 USD).

Sierra Wireless unveils Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB EVDO Rev. A modem

Don't let popular opinion fool you. Sometimes size does matter - in this case, smaller is better. When you've got a USB dongle hanging out of your USB port, ready to break-off and kill that precious data port with one wrong slip of your laptop, you want to make sure that said USB dongle is as small as possible. The smaller the USB-stick, the less chance of it catching on something and snapping your USB port into oblivion.
But, fear not, dear mobile warrior, Sierra Wireless has your back. If a nice, sleek ExpressCard-based wireless broadband solution is just not an option for you, Sierra Wireless' new [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] should help you get your EVDO Rev. A data-fix in a jiff. The Sierra Wireless Compass 597 does Rev. A to the tune of 3.1Mbps on the downlink and 1.8Mbps on the upstream. Of course, it'll still work for older CDMA networks that haven't been bumped up to Rev. A.
But, small doesn't mean weak, the small size and sleek styling belies the Sierra Wireless Compass 597's feature-packed spec-sheet. There's a built-in GPS receiver in there somewhere, in addition to the microSD card slot and the connector for an external antenna. The Sierra Wireless Compass 597 is a microSD card reader, GPS dongle, and EVDO Rev. A broadband modem all in one slim package. And, with the TRU-Install software making installation a breeze (according to Sierra Wireless), you should be up and running in no time at all.
"The Compass 597 USB modem combines high-speed mobile broadband and expandable storage in an attractive device that installs its own drivers and software and is small enough to hide in the palm of my hand, making it an easy choice for customers looking for a practical, simple way to work or stay in touch while on the go," said Trent Punnett, senior vice president, Marketing and Corporate Development, at Sierra Wireless.
It looks like Q2 2008 is a good time to look for this little guy to launch. We'll apparently see more of the Compass 597 at CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas next month. Stay tuned.
