Thumbs up Black Hole phone pouch hides your cellphone signal

Just as a Black Hole eats up anything in its vicinity - including light - Brando’s Black Hole bag will eat up your mobile phone’s wireless signal. Putting your phone into this Black Hole phone bag will effectively block all incoming and outgoing signals from your mobile phone.
The Black Hole phone bag has two pockets - one that will act as a normal cellphone pouch, and one that will wrap your phone in an impenetrable wireless cocoon. For $12 at [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...], you can pick up a Black Hole bag for those times when you want to hide yourself from the “grid” without pressing the “power” button.
Click on for more pics of the Brando Black Hole phone pouch.

Thumbs up Bluetooth Bracelet LM959 alerts you on phone calls

While most phones sold today come with vibrating alert, some time we just can’t feel it while in the crowd. Guess that was the main idea of the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] designers, who figured this way you’ll certainly know when someone’s trying to get you on the phone. Simply put the LM959 around your wrist and soon enough you’ll reach the zero missed calls/text messages goal, if that’s what you’re craving for.
In addition to vibrating on phone calls, the Bluetooth wristband alerts you when you have wandered more than 15 feet away from your phone. In that sense it’s also some kind of theft prevention device, which is kinda neat.
Anyway, it’s one of those so much NOT needed accessory that costs £23.50 or about $48. Do you actually need it? Most probably not, but then again - it’s your call…

Thumbs up Bring your WiFi hotspot with you - CradlePoint PHS300

WiFi hotspots are great and all, but you have to be in range of an access point in order to put it to good use. Well, CradlePoint has a solution for WiFi junkies anywhere, at anytime, at a whim. The CradlePoint PHS300 is a portable WiFi hotspot, complete with its own Li-ion power supply - you know, in case you don’t have an AC outlet to go with your portable hotspot. Just hook up your USB wireless modem or your compatible mobile phone to the CradlePoint PHS300 and you’re good to go on a WEP/WPA and firewall-secured network.
And, if you can spare the Lithium ions, the CradlePoint PHS300 will charge your handset through the USB port as well. We’re expecting a December 20, 2007 release date, just in time for you-know-what. The price of admission is steep. At $179.99 it’s not exactly a bargain, but if you need a portable hotspot, this thing is your best bet.

Thumbs up Mobile phone leather briefcase

With all those beautiful and powerful phones available on the Japanese market, it doesn’t surprises some people want to protect them as much as possible. Furthermore, some folks may find regular cases to be boring and so casual that they need to get something more appropriate for their beloved device to stand our from the crowd. A leather briefcase perhaps? Yap, that’s exactly what they want. And again it’s [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] from where they can grab these small briefcases. Available in black, tan, brown and white, these briefcases can be hung from a belt buckle or handbag. Are these things weird or that’s just us?

Thumbs up Bluetooth handsfree kit mounts on steering wheel

No matter how spiffy handsfree Bluetooth calling kits may get, they have one significant downfall when compared to factory-installed Bluetooth integration systems in mid- to- high-end cars - the benefit of steering wheel mounted controls and easily viewable call-information. The steering wheel mounted controls allow safe access to your phone’s calling features, while the easily viewable call-information ensures that your eyes won’t have to stray too far from the road.
The [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] has just revealed Seecode’s Wheel Bluetooth kit and we’re liking it. Call-quality and ease of use has yet to be hashed out on the open-roads, but the Wheel Bluetooth kit looks like a pretty trick piece of kit. The handsfree unit mounts to the top of your steering wheel and features easily accessible “call” and “end” buttons as well as volume controls. The speakerphone handles the “handsfree” calling end of the deal, and the small screen keeps your eyes within peripheral range of the road as you scroll through your phonebook. Batteries will keep this thing running for an unknown time, but we would think that Seecode would include a cigarette-port power option.
No word on pricing or availability. We’ll keep you updated.

Thumbs up Forget bone-conducting microphones - NS-ELEX develops in-ear microphone

Bone conducting headsets are good for picking up clearer sounding voice in less-than-quiet environments. That is, as long as you like having the microphone located externally to your ear.
A Japanese company called NS-ELEX has just released their new in-ear earpiece/microphone technology. The “e-Mimi-kun” is basically a Bluetooth headset or a wired headset for your phone. Using a microphone that fits inside your ear, the “e-Mimi-kun” picks up air-vibrations to transmit your voice to your listener. The in-ear design is said to reduce ambient noise by a factor of 6, while the on-board electronics from Sanyo further reduce ambient noise to a factor of 10.
We imagine that construction workers and airport personnel will be lining up for this new breed of noise-canceling technology. The rest of us will just use our Aliph Jawbones and [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] headsets.

Thumbs up A bathtub for your mobile phone, say what?

Although we could hardly say this is the single most useful mobile phone accessory, somehow we like it. But that’s “like it” as an interesting gift for your girlfriend, not as something you’ll run out and buy it for yourself. If you consider it as a mobile phone related gift which is not a strap, it’s kinda cool. On the other hand, it’s stupid and useless… It’s a slow news day, I’m sure you can tell

Thumbs up Brief Review: SanDisk Powered Nokia N82 8GB Edition

With the current dollar to euro exchange rate there was no point in me spending any money on electronic equipment in Finland. Low and behold I’m in the US for the next 2 and a half weeks and I took it upon myself to get an 8GB microSD card for my Nokia N82 since I already filled up my old 4GB unit. From the comfort of my bed [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] where I can buy one retail, [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] said the Verizon Store and I knew there was one less than 3 miles away from my home.
Walked in, ask the lovely young girl if there are any 8GB microSD cards in stock, she brings one out for me from the back, I’m ecstatic that their SanDisk branded, she rings it up and $105.53 later here I am:
[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]
Where is the card?! I thought you would never ask:
[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]
It works just fine. You can grab the new theme I’m using from [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...].
How is the speed? Let us see how long it takes to move 3.5 GB of pirated Happy Hardcore and DNB music directly to the card via the full size SD adapter plugged into my Windows Vista Ultimate running Lenovo ThinkPad’s T61 built in card reader:
[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]
I’m more than delighted. Highly recommended. 10/10
Update: Ricky asked me to post a screenshot of moving data to the card with it inside the N82 over USB. I don’t recommend you do this since it is mind blowingly slow:

Thumbs up Finger massager helps Japanese relieve pain from too much texting

It doesn’t surprises that such developed market as Japan has its own gizmos. For instance, I still can’t envision the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] pictured above selling outside of the “Land of the rising Sun.” But if you rely on your shiny powerful mobile phone like Japanese do — like all the time — that makes perfect sense.
Anyway, the finger massager helps heavy mobile phone users relieve those aches and pains caused by excessive text messaging. And in case you’re wondering, we’ve no clue where you can get it in the U.S./Europe nor how much it costs…

Thumbs up Panasonic's Link to Cell connects your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone to cordless han

At least in the Western hemisphere (outside Japan), Panasonic is not that known as a mobile phone manufacturer. They are better known for their in-home cordless phones — hey, I got one of those. That’s certainly a capital the Japanese electronics maker wants to leverage.
That being said, they’ve announced their advanced Link to Cell KX-TH1211, a mobile phone accessory that connects a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone to cordless handsets in the home. The idea is not only to preserve the mobile phone’s battery life, but also to provide users with better reception to move throughout the home. And while I don’t see much of a point here — I’m home and I can recharge my mobile phone whenever I want — I’m sure there are some folks who disagree with me, and that’s fine. They would be pleased to know that the KX-TH1211 also offers simple service registration and supports up to two mobile phone numbers, meaning multiple people in the home can benefit from this mobile accessory. In addition, calls to the registered cell phone numbers can be programmed to specific handsets in the home.
Finally, let’s talk about the price. Link to Cell KH-TH1211 comes equipped with one handset and will be available in March 2008 with a suggested retail price of $99.95. Additional handsets have a SRP of $39.95.
