Thumbs up Sony Ericsson PSPhone spotted in Stuff Magazine?

Paul Sinclair from [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] says that he has noticed Sony Ericsson PSPhone ad or article in UK’s Stuff magazine. According to the image above which we took from a [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...], Sony Ericsson agrees with our stand that [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]. Still, we’ve no any confirmation from the Swedish-Japanese handset maker whether this is a real deal or yet another Photoshop rendering. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the former…

Thumbs up Trend Micro Protects Sony Ericsson Smartphones

Trend Micro™ Mobile Security 3.0, with firewall and intrusion detection technology, protects Sony Ericsson smartphones against malware, intrusions and data leaks. Trend Micro Mobile Security (TMMS) 3.0 for Symbian/UIQ3 supports the Sony Ericsson P1, M600 and W960. It provides anti-malware, firewall, and intrusion detection system (IDS).

Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704), a leader in network antivirus and content security software and services, today announced that Trend Micro Mobile Security (TMMS) 3.0 is available for the Symbian/UIQ 3.0 operating system, which includes Sony Ericsson P1 devices. New users can directly download a trial version of TMMS 3.0, protecting them from hackers, intrusions and malicious codes that are an ever-increasing threat to mobile devices using unsecured wireless networks. “Trend Micro strives to be one step ahead of the bad guys,” said Todd Thiemann, marketing director for Trend Micro's incubation group. “Smartphone usage and convenience are expanding quickly. Even though the mobile threats we've encountered so far have been containable, our goal is to 'future-proof' our customers with the best security solutions we can deliver.”

Trend Micro Mobile Security 3.0 is designed for maximum ease-of-use, providing users with a simple interface for maximum security with minimal impact on the user and device. Trend Micro Mobile Security 3.0 supports devices using Symbian OS 9.1/UIQ 3.0 which includes the Sony Ericsson P1, W960 and M600. Thumbs up Sony Ericsson redesigns website

Well, well, well… just went to visit the[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] and I’ve noticed the new design. The site now features more items on the homepage — guess four main things were just not enough for the Swedish-Japanese handset maker.
On the left, you’ll see the featured handsets, while the right side is reserved for the company’s highlights and campaigns. The center is where all the action is happening once you click on a featured phone or campaign. The main navigation remains on the top… Nicely done folks. It’s much more convenient this way!

Thumbs up Sony Ericsson K530c spotted on FCC; Heading to AT&T or China?

The Sony Ericsson K530c has been spotted at the FCC’s website and now we’re wondering whether we’ll actually see it hitting the stores across the U.S. The “c” suffix suggests it’s made for the Chinese market, but then again why would the Swedish-Japanese handset maker bother filling the FCC papers if they ain’t gonna sell it in the States. Guess we’ll never know that, but I’ll only remind you they’ve already did this for several other phones that never reached any U.S. carrier. Still, SE may want to include the “right frequency” 3G radio in this affordable baby and start selling it on AT&T where it already has several devices. We’ll see where this goes…

Thumbs up First picture of the Sony Ericsson Z660i leaks, ultra thin clamshell

[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]Straight from Thailand comes a picture of the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] Z660i. Specifications include a 2 megapixel camera, the A200 platform that comes in the K850i, 14mm thin and HSDPA support. It certainly looks pretty, but I have no hope that SE will include industry standard ports.

Thumbs up CellPhoneSoft updates LinkBoy; Provides Symbian UIQ3 based smartphone owners with sho

I keep returning to [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]. Today’s reason is that Zoltan Gyorgypal from [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...], whom I’ve met there, informed me that he’s updated its popular LinkBoy application. The newly released LinkBoy 1.40 goes beyond earlier versions, and not only allows you to customize the home screen of your Symbian UIQ3 based device (Sony Ericsson smartphones, Motorola Z8), but also adds additional tweaking on top of it. For instance, if you’re using the Sony Ericsson P990i there are new “Enhanced Activity options” for selective display of shortcut sets depending on flip mode. In addition, LinkBoy 1.40 enables even faster access to favorite apps by allowing you to set numeric keys as hotkeys for invoking shortcuts. Next, you can configure font sizes and add blank space between icons. Finally, Zoltan made sure the new version of LinkBoy fixes all the small bugs from the previous versions and is now faster than ever before…
Yeah, I could go on and on. You just need to see the screenshots and you’ll know why you need this application, especially if you’re using one of the earlier Sony Ericsson smartphones (M600i, W950i or P990i). More information is available [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...].

Thumbs up Timed SyncML and Podcatcher for UIQ

Here are two free UIQ applications that recently caught our eye. [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] is an application which allows you to automatically sync to a SyncML server on a schedule (e.g. every hour). [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] is a podcatcher (podcast downloader) for UIQ 3 phones. Both these applications come from the Bergamot project, the aim of which is to release high quality, open source software for the UIQ platform,

Swim is a welcome addition as UIQ 3's built in SyncML software does not offer scheduled sync. Swim uses the built in software as a basis for its own functionality.
PodcastPlayer opens up a whole new area of audio content for UIQ 3 phone users. Podcasts are becoming an increasingly popular way to distribute episodic audio content. One feed you might consider adding is the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...].
Here are screenshots of PodcastPlayer and Swim respectively:

The Bergamot project is also looking for developers who are interested in getting involved in UIQ 3 open source development. More details are available on the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...], including details of some planned future projects.

Thumbs up Sony Ericsson Z310 Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada special edition

I guess in an effort to refresh one of its aging models, Sony Ericsson has teamed up with the Spanish designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada to release the Z310 special edition. As far as we know, the phone remains the same in terms of specs, with only difference in the face plate design and different set of pre-loaded wallpapers. Vodafone Europe is carrying the device, which is retailing for $138…
