Asus to debut the ZX1 Lamborghini PDA phone at CeBIT?
Asus is preparing to show some of its racing gear at this year's CeBIT. Apparently, the Taiwan-based electronics giant will be launching the ZX1 Lamborghini branded PDA Phone at the event. The device, which we're still wondering how it looks (the image on the right is just a mockup), will sport such goodies as HSDPA support, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, while Qualcomm's 520 MHz CPU will provide the processing power for Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition. Or that's maybe 6.1 version…
Yeah I know you may want one, but you'll have to wait for the summer when Asus will release the new device in Europe for about 650 EUR. That's a lot, but don't forget there's the famous raging bull on the screen staring at you.
In the meantime, if you have fortune to spend - consider buying the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]. It may not have the brains, but boy it looks sooo good…

The Tech Turf's Google2GO! gives Windows Mobile users quick access to all Google services
The Tech Turf recently released a neat application called Google2Go! for Windows Mobile. The idea is to provide users of smartphones that run Microsoft's mobile OS with the quick access to all of the popular Google services. That being said, with Google2Go! users can quickly search web, local listings, and images; access Google Calendar, Reader, Docs, News, Notes, GMail and Picasa. In addition, the application also features links to other popular destinations like Amazon, eBay, Weather.com, Wikipedia and Dictionary/Thesaurus.
Again, it's a handy app and somehow reminds us on Yahoo's mobile application Yahoo! Go — except that it sports iPhone icons. Google2Go! is available as a free download (it's open source) and will work on both touch and non-touch enabled Windows Mobile devices. Here's the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. General Mobile DSTW1 does Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional with dual SIM cards
We love dual [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]. It's even better when the double SIM card-wielding handset is powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional and rocks a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio.
The General Mobile DSTW1 delivers quad-band network access to one of the SIM card slots, while the other SIM card slot serves up tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM. One SIM card for the States and one SIM card for overseas? Sounds like that was the idea with this setup.
And, for the large-display lovers out there, the General Mobile DSTW1 features a 2.8-inch 240×320 touchscreen display, complementing the 117mm x 61mm x 18mm (4.6" x 2.4" x .7") footprint that tips the scales at 144g. A 2 megapixel camera and microSD card slot round out the feature-set, but it looks like this guy's limited to EDGE-only data connections.
Look for General Mobile to drop their DSTW1 in European markets in March. Pricing is unknown.

Windows Mobile trojan in the wild - InfoJack Trojan

Watch out folks, security firm [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] has warned that they've discovered a new Windows Mobile trojan. This time, the trojan, InfoJack Trojan, is actually in the wild and capable of infecting unprotected Windows Mobile smartphones.
The InfoJack Trojan infects your Windows Mobile device when an unsuspecting user downloads and installs an infected application, or uses an infected memory card. The trojan disables Windows Mobile's installation security by allowing unsigned applications to be installed. This leaves the smartphone vulnerable to future infections. Further, the trojan sends sensitive information back to the malware's author - it jacks your info, hence the name. The InfoJack Trojan also copies itself back into memory and the memory card, so that even if the active trojan is deleted, there's a backup copy somewhere else.
InfoJack Trojan has been circulated through Chinese downloads of Google Maps, applications for stock trading, and games. The website that originated the InfoJack Trojan has been shut down, thanks to Chinese authorities, but that doesn't mean Windows Mobile users are in the clear.
Now might be a good time to start thinking about anti-virus applications for your Windows Mobile device.

Spb Mobile Shell 2.0 released; Windows Mobile users rejoice
Spb Mobile Shell 2.0 has been [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]. The new version doesn't just look better (there's a great choice of haptic animation), but is also faster and lower in memory consumption. Aside from the previous version's "classics" like concise "Now Screen," World Time, photo speed deal, launcher, color-based themes and fast/smart contact search — version 2.0 also features full screen dialogs for Weather and Time, animated transitions, navigation with gestures (like HTC's TouchFLO). In addition, the Spb Mobile Shell now packs all functionality in one tabbed window, making the app run much faster.
I could go on and on, but it's the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] where you should get the detailed info. If you own Windows Mobile 5 or 6 powered device, this is the app to have. It costs $29.95 and it's worth every penny!

ASUS launches Galaxi Mini P320 Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone with GPS
Asus is covering all their bases with their latest lineup of Windows Mobile smartphones. We've got the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] Communicator slated to do all the heavy lifting, the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] should cater to the high-end, and now the [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] will be holding down the mid-range as the Asus P320. At CeBIT 2008, Asus launched the Asus Galaxi Mini as the Asus P320.
As an mid-level handset, the slim(ish) and light Asus P320 (Galaxi Mini) maxes out its data connectivity with EDGE, but the quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio should make sure that this Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone will be good to go anywhere on the globe. And, it's good to see the mid-range Asus P320 Galaxi Mini rocking a SiRF III GPS receiver, 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and microSD card slot. Even if the TI OMAP 850 CPU tops out at 200Mhz with 128MB ROM and 64 RAM backing it up.

And, don't forget that this bad-boy is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (touchscreen, remember?), complete with manufacturer-made tweaks and add-ons to the UI. It's probably safe to say that this lower-priced offering from Asus won't be sporting that [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] that we saw on the Lamborghini ZX1, but then again, the Asus P320 is in a completey different class than the Lamborghini ZX1.
Price should be 300 Euros and we're expecting a European launch in Q2 2008.
