There are a lot of great games out there that get overlooked for one reason or another. Whether it is because they are hard to find, got bad reviews, or just came out at a bad time of year, there are a lot of hidden gems out there that deserve to be played. Here is our list, in no particular order, of the ten best Xbox 360 games you probably haven't played.
1. Viva Pinata Microsoft
At first glance, Viva Pinata is too cute and cuddly and kiddy and most people ignored it. But underneath the candy coated graphics is a game that is amazingly addictive and fun. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
2. Shadowrun Microsoft
Shadowrun has been overlooked by many because it is seen as a poor value. It is focused mainly on multiplayer, and $60 seems like a stretch. Of course, once you actually play it and see how incredibly fun it is, you'll definitely get your money's worth because this is a very solid Xbox Live FPS.
3. Ridge Racer 6
Lost in the sea of good Xbox 360 launch titles, Ridge Racer 6 didn't sell well initially and was one of the first games to drop in price. So-so reviews paired with the excessive number of copies available scared people away who thought it wasn't a good game. But it is a good game. Dozens of cars. Hundreds of races. This game is huge and plays amazingly well.
4. Chromehounds Sega
Another game where you either love it, or you haven't played it. It is a lot slower and more complex than most run-and-gun mech games, but it is a deeply satisfying game that sports an amazing online mode.
5. Enchanted Arms Ubisoft
Enchanted Arms was knocked for being too cliché and not taking any risks, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good game. It has an interesting story and introduces gameplay aids such as fast forward and auto battle to speed up the pace of the game and keep things moving. Very underrated and underappreciated.
6. Phantasy Star Universe SEGA
Another solid RPG that was overlooked in 2006. Most people don't even know that it has a full single-player mode in addition to the pay-to-play online game. The single-player plays out like an anime series, with each set of missions representing an episode of the show. Very cool, and well worth playing through.
7. Just Cause Eidos
Just Cause definitely deserved the poor review scores it got, because it is surprisingly buggy and not very polished, but that doesn't mean that it isn't still a lot of fun in spite of the problems. It is a go anywhere, do anything type of sandbox game, but it ups the ante a bit with a huge land area to explore, and a grappling hook/parachute combo that ensures you can go pretty much anywhere you want.
8. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 Tecmo
DOA Xtreme 2 was knocked for not being enough of an improvement over the first game. But I have to completely disagree with that. It looks miles better, the volleyball is far better, and there are a ton of extra minigames and things to do. If you are a DOA fan, you'll love this game. Period.
9. Earth Defense Force 2017 D3
It is a goofy budget game that looks kind of ugly, but nothing beats shooting hundreds of alien bugs and giant robots in one of the best pick-up-and-play games of the year. Play it in co-op for even more fun.
10. WarTech: Senko no Ronde Ubisoft
Senko no Ronde is almost too niche for its own good, but if you like anime, giant robots, shoot-em-ups, fighting games, or any combination of these, you'll love it.
