Being a programmer one thing i can surely say the clear cut reason for the downfall in symbian is sue to the following facts...
1.The implementation of higher level languages...making it easy for poor programmers to creep in...(who the he** needs flash lite and python to create apps and open c when there is c++)...the code lags and is of cheap quality...
2.introduction of new feature packs and phone models every now and then...nokia please give the developers to work on a standard platform...are you really open-source????
3.I've not seen any game to date that has utilised the opengl subsystem fully...that is really sad...even with such awesome hardware as power vr no-body uses it actually...
4.Last but not the least cut the device prices nokia you cannot expect one-man garage developers like me to get a n95 8gb to test my code...
