Touch Table EES "edutainment system" is large, edutaining By Nokia-master Published: February 19, 2008
Print Email
We're blown away by how much of a behemoth ToyQuest's Touch Table EES unit is, but perhaps that's what kids are into these days. The "table" is really a swiveling TV with touch capabilities and some edutainment software. Games include bowling and trivia, kids can draw on the screen or organize photographs, and there's even a Google Earth-style globe that kids can spin around and explore to find the family's next vacation spot -- or, heaven forbid, learn something from the accompanying video encyclopedia. The 21-inch touchscreen is complemented by a DVD player, speakers, and AV, USB and SD inputs. You can rotate the whole display for use while sitting -- there's even a built-in dock for the Wii if that's your style. The table doesn't connect to the internet at all (to keep kids safe), and we're not positive the included software we saw is necessarily $499 worth of fun, but you should be able to check one out this fall at your big box retailer of choice. Video is after the break.

Nokia unveils the Nokia 8800 Arte duo By Nokia-master Published: November 17, 2007
Print Email
In a new artistic approach, Nokia has created the brand new Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte. Made of exquisite materials they continue the tradition of the luxurious 8xxx-series but add something of their own too. With "Arte" standing for "art", the new Nokia premium handsets both include some new design solutions plus some software and hardware innovations. The tap-for-time feature allows users to see the clock on the display of the new mobiles with a couple of gentle taps on the steel surface below the display. The living wallpaper, seen for the first time in Nokia 7900 Prism, which by the way is now available, is present here too. A unique silencing feature allows you to silence an incoming call just by turning the handset face down on the table thanks to the integrated accelerometer. Nokia 8800 Arte Traditionally, the 8800-series of Nokia are not known for their high-end characteristics, however the new Arte handsets are about to change that. Beside 3G functionality, the handsets also flaunt 3 megapixel cameras with auto focus. No memory card slot yet, but the 1GB of internal memory might just do the trick this time. All wired connectivity uses the integrated microUSB port. Read More... - 502 Views

It's official. No, really, it is! The Nokia N82 is finally out and rolling with the official Nokia specifications. There's nothing new to it, rumors have already got it right. There is some exciting news about it though - the Nokia N82 will be shipping as of now - effective immediately. In case you wonder how much it will cost, read on. The Nokia N82 photos leaked yesterday The Nokia N82 specs include HSDPA with video calls and quad-band GSM support. The 100MB of integrated memory is complemented by the microSD memory slot. The 2.4" 16M color QVGA TFT display is not as large as the one of Nokia N95 however we feel that the N82 will be a strong contender to the N95 flagship. The Nokia N82 is pretty much identical in hardware to the N95. It has 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, it can capture 30fps MPEG4 videos at VGA resolution, and has a TV-out port to watch those on your TV set. You also have A-GPS that works with Nokia Maps. Compatibility with third-party software is not confirmed yet. The N82 however flaunts a xenon flash which is a first for Nokia but a really popular feature among users and again, there's the screen auto-rotation. Read More... - 558 Views

It's been a long time since we last held such an unusual phone in our hands. Nokia 7500 Prism is so much different from all other mobile devices in terms of design. With its dazzling geometric patterns and distinctive triangular keys, the Prism is one of the most striking phones announced recently. Keeping a low profile is one thing this device can't do. Anyway, stay with us for the good and bad of it. Nokia 7500 official photos
